Shadow is a very dear cat at Sankt Georg. She crept into our hearts right from the day she was born. She would always come all the way from the far side of the stable block to come and greet us. She recently had kittens. Sadly only one survived.

Olive is a resident stable cat at Sankt Georg Stable Yard. She has 3 friends: Garfield, Shadow and Melon. She recently had kittens but they have all found themselves new homes.

On Wednesday 6 October in a sun-baked courtyard at CLAW (Community Led Animal Welfare) in Durban Deep, Johannesburg, a corporate team of 26 volunteers spent the day wielding hammers and drills to build 30 kennels for young animal champions in the community as part of CLAW’s World Animal Week campaign.

The Sphynx appears to be a hairless cat, but it is not truly hairless. The skin texture resembles that of chamois leather. While Sphynx cats lack a coat to shed or groom, they are not maintenance-free. Body oils, which would normally be absorbed by the hair, tend to build up on the skin. These cats need regular grooming and cleaning. I recently met up with Whylie and Chloe. Their owner wanted some portraits of her beloved cats.

Bam Bam is a Jessica’s little ball of fur. He is a Miniature Toy Pom. I had such fun with him yesterday. I sat down on a chair under a big tree and watched Liz and Sam ride their horses. He was lying by my feet chewing sticks and leaves.
